O: What does music bring to you?
D: The answer to that question for me is clarity, music makes me think more clear... I think it brings my thoughts into a more centered place of focus rather than scattered.
O: Would you describe music as more of a hobby or a passion? Or both?
D: I would say both for sure, I love playing music obviously and I want to get the most fun out of it that I can. I definitely use it as a way to escape reality, there's times when I'm playing music and I'm just laying something cool down... I'm not even there anymore and the notes are the only thing that's filling my head.
O: What does music provide for you and how much does it mean to you?
D: What music provides for me is it gives me a sense of fullness when I might be lacking that in reality. My whole life I've been incredibly attracted to music...
O: How does your process of making a song change and how do you go about it?
D: Just for example playing with Burke the other night, just hanging out and we were bored and had the acoustics out with this song, and we're just working through these little riffs... let's try this, let's try that, and all of a sudden you're building this song and everything new you put in is such a moment of excitement.
It's just like in the lineup too, I see this big wave coming out the back and I just get so stoked. It's a similar feeling to that.
O: Who influences you and who do you find yourself looking up too?
D: I think being able to create your own path in life based off others is so interesting, it's like an almagamation of all the great people in the world carrying there influence in me. I don't think there's anyone that I could single out, I'm really big into literature so I'm always thinking about that kind of stuff and those people. They have a big impact on how I view everyday life.
O: How does your clothes and what you wear effect this craft that is music?
D: I want to be able to wear things that make me feel like I'm representing a true and honest version of myself. Whether that be through button ups or sweaters or whatever... it definitely inspires me more when I'm in a good outfit.
O: What do you think of OSLAR's Volume 03 The Music collection?
D: Just music in general as a theme is amazing, I think these pants(Andy Denim) feel great as well, the fit is really nice... I love it. I think OSLAR is doing great...
O: Anything else for us Dan? What do you got the rest of the day?
D: I wanna be in the sun, it's beautiful out...and kick it with the homies.
